Ta Da!

After months of planning and working, this:
now looks like this!
I can't even believe it's the same fireplace! THANK YOU x a million to my wonderful husband and father in law for making my abstract ideas a reality, putting up with my nagging and working so hard to make the fireplace a focal point of the living room instead of an eyesore! Now, if I can just get those shelves decorated...

Here are some pictures of the transformation:
Love this one... 3 generations

Red Pony Birthdays

Although I don't know everything my sneaky husband has planned for my 28th birthday, I know I can count on one thing: an amazing dinner at Red Pony. It's been a tradition since 2007. See:

Kayaks and Paddle Boards

While on vacation, we rented a kayak and 2 paddle boards and spent one morning hanging out on the bay. Everyone had a turn... even the dogs!

Apalachicola

Apalachicola, Florida, close to St. George, is "a quaint small southern town with a strong maritime culture, an eclectic group of locally owned shops and galleries, restaurants which serve fresh local seafood, and meticulously restored B&B's and hotels" (according to apalachicolabay.org). While at St. George, we took one afternoon to visit Apalachicola and do some window-shopping, site-seeing and, of course, eating.

SGI, FL

Usually when vacationing with Keith's parents we go to Isle of Palms, South Carolina, but this year we decided to try a different beach locale. St. George Island, Florida is a comparable distance and ranks number 8 on a list of top dog friendly beaches, which you know is important to us as the dogs of the family won't be left behind! The Friday before Memorial Day, Keith, Aimee, Nick and I headed down to St. George for our first visit (Keith's parents joined us the next day). After the most relaxing week filled with eating fresh seafood, enjoying beautiful sunsets and lots of dolphin (and some sting ray) sightings, I think I can say we will be back!

Here's one of my favorite pictures from the week.
More coming soon...
