27 Weeks!

3 months to Parker's due date, give or take a few days! I'm getting a little confused on his size comparisons as I get several emails that all say different things (eggplant? head of cauliflower?). What I do know is that this is the end of the last week of my second trimester!

This week I've had my fair share of root beer (who knew it is caffeine free!), king cake and... Tums. Luckily, the Tums have only been on a minimal basis. I feel so lucky to have had very few complaints and an easy pregnancy so far. Here's to hoping the last trimester goes as smoothly!

26 Weeks!

The countdown to my due date is now in the double digits. 93 days to be exact. So exciting and so scary all at the same time!

Here's me and Parker at 26 weeks (with our potentially new curtains):
Random Facts:
* Parker is still kicking like crazy. All. The. Time.
* I keep getting asked about any cravings. I wish I had something really weird to share or anything at all, but I just don't. I have had some food aversions. I can't even think about eggplant (interesting since during Month 6 Parker is the size of an eggplant). In the beginning I couldn't stand to eat Italian food, but I got over that one.
* I've done really well giving up all of those things I'm not supposed to be eating at all or majorly limiting. The one thing I can't give up- sweet tea.
* Recently I've had a little trouble sleeping, which means Darcy has had some trouble sleeping as well. Yes, she sleeps in our bed. Don't judge.
* We have a car seat! After a ton of research we finally went shopping. I'll admit, it took us a while to figure out how to detach the seat from the base, but we did it. Now, getting it latched into the car may be another process altogether. :)

Finally... New Floors!

2011 was the year of house projects. We started the year with the fireplace reno and ended with the floors in the foyer and living/dining rooms. It was very labor intensive, but so worth it. I am amazed at the transformation!
 The Foyer:
After!
The Living Room/Dining Room:
Step One: Roll up the carpet.
Step Two: Level the concrete.
 Step Three: Glue the hardwood.
After!
(Since these pictures were taken we've moved the rug in the living room to the dining room and purchased a much bigger rug for the living room. We're also close to making a decision on curtains.)
And just because she's so cute...

25 Weeks!

At 25 weeks, according to "What to Expect": At nine inches and more than a pound and a half in weight, your baby is taller than two juice boxes stacked one on top of the other, and almost as heavy as four of those little boxes.

Also at 25 weeks: Parker's first Tennessee snow!

Girls Weekend: Birmingham

Last weekend Ann Claire, Angie and I took a long overdue drive down I-65 to Birmingham to see Becky. It was the ultimate girls weekend- eating, reading magazines, watching movies and shopping. We also took a walk down memory lane and stopped by Samford's campus. It's amazing how much it has changed since 2005. It's also amazing that I met these girls 10 years ago!
Beautiful Samford, even in January
O'Carr's. Best chicken salad. Ever.
Love y'all!

24 Weeks!

It's Week 24!
We've slowed down on the food comparisons (thank goodness!) and for the entirety of month 5 (or is it 6? I'm getting confused and losing count!) Parker is the size of a papaya. In addition to feeling movement, Keith and I can also see it sometimes. When Parker kicks really hard, my stomach jumps a little.

I was able to take my weekly picture without Keith's help this time thanks to my new, full-sized tripod (Thanks Aimee and Nick!). Also, if it seems like I wear this dress a lot, it's because I do. Right now it's one of my most comfortable work appropriate outfits. I'm also a big fan of my knee high flat black boots.

*FYI: My "flip" day is Tuesday, so Monday's Week 23 post and today's Week 24 post are both technically correct.

Happy New Year from Oxford, MS!

Keith and I rang in the new year in Oxford. It was kind of a last minute decision to go and honestly I wasn't entirely on board with the idea when Keith first mentioned it, but I'm glad I came around because it was a fantastic weekend! We ate and shopped and ate and walked around the Ole Miss campus. Oh and ate. :)
Our hotel- Downtown Oxford Inn
Big Bad Breakfast- best grits and biscuits!
Saturday morning at Ole Miss
Old Law School
 New Law School
 Saturday afternoon on the Square

5 course New Years Eve dinner at Snackbar-
My favorites were the soup and dessert.

 Midnight on the Square
Happy New Year!

23 Weeks!

Week 23:
* Keith felt Parker move for the first time!
* Parker's been kicking... a lot.
* We spent the last day of 2011 and the first day of 2012 in Oxford where we ate, shopped and ate some more (so Parker is definitely growing too!).
