Last week there were several firsts around here:
Parker's first shopping trip with Mommy. By the looks of this picture he wasn't very impressed, but he was very good (only 1 meltdown!).
Darcy's first bath (in a while). She's obviously not a fan!

Memorial Day Weekend
Parker's first holiday weekend was jam-packed with activities. The weekend started on Friday with Ann Claire's 30th birthday dinner, which was my first night away from my little man. Unfortunately, Friday was not a happy day for Parker. He fussed and cried the majority of the day so I was a little worried on my way to Sopapilla's. Keith kept me informed via text (and even sent a picture) so I knew Parker took his bottle okay (his second one!) and had a relaxing bath. It took about 3 tries to get him to go to bed though, which is really uncharacteristic. He just wanted to be held constantly, so I took over cuddling duties from the time I got home until 1 am.
Saturday Becky and Laura came over to meet Parker. He apparently tired himself out on Friday so he spent most of the visit sleeping.
On Sunday night Keith and I decided to take Parker to met Ann Claire, Becky and Laura for dinner at The Pharmacy, a new burger and soda shop in East Nashville. Yum! We will be going back.

Our original plan for Monday was to go to downtown Franklin for lunch at Puckett's new food truck, but it was ridiculously hot. Instead, we took a family walk at Crockett Park early Saturday morning (as in we left our house at 6:45 am). Then we headed to Opry Mills with Keith's parents for a little shopping and to 12th South for lunch at Edley's, a new barbecue place. That night one of my pregnancy cravings was finally fulfilled when we grilled hot dogs for dinner.
We're keeping busy this week too with lunch dates, a doctor's appointment for me, family in town this weekend and Parker's blessing at church Sunday morning!

One Month!
Parker is one month old!!! I cannot believe that one month ago (give or take a few days) our sweet boy made his grand entrance into this world. He has gone through so many phases and has made so many changes already. He's been an easy day baby, then an easy night baby, then a combination of both. He's become a big fan of his paci. He's growing all over- even his eyelashes! He's found his voice and is constantly talking, grunting or otherwise exercising his vocal cords and sometimes lungs. He still looks just like his daddy, but he's strong willed and opinionated like his mommy. He's also a frequently photographed baby. Here are some of my most recent favorites:
He always has at least one hand up.
We love bath time.
Dancing while Daddy plays for us.
LOVE these two!
And Parker's official "One Month" photo shoot...
Parker man, in one month our lives have forever been changed for the better. We love you and we can't wait to see what Month Two has in store!

Family Outings
Call us crazy, but Keith and I have started venturing out with Parker. And not just on walks around the neighborhood or at Percy Warner Park or picnics in the backyard.
But to "Eat the Street"- Franklin's first food truck festival...
and to Chuy's for a Cinco de Mayo dinner...
Parker has been a perfect baby each time. Can't wait to start getting out more!

Growth Spurt and Bath Time
Starting yesterday around dinner time my usually laid back baby turned cranky and clingy. He also decided that instead of eating every 2.5-3 hours he was hungry every 1.5 hours. I'm pretty sure this is a growth spurt so our crazy, non-sleeping schedule could last for the next few days to a week. I'm so glad he's growing, but needless to say I'm one tired mama today... and Darcy's one tired big sister!
On a more fun note, Parker's cord fell off (I'll spare you the details of exactly how that came about) and we can now graduate from sponge baths to sink baths! During his first bath on Monday Parker was so calm the entire time and seemed to really enjoy it- except for the transition between the sink and his cuddly towel.

Love my tiny, cozy (even if he is temporarily fussy and loud) man!

Photo Friday: Parker's First Two Weeks!
How in the world is our baby boy 2 weeks (actually 15 days) old?! These past two weeks have been full of walks, tummy time (where he turned his head back and forth 4 times yesterday!), singing, swinging, sleeping (for one of us at least!) and cuddling. Neither Keith or I had ever changed a diaper before April 19 and now we've changed more than we can count. We've both been victims of "open air" accidents. We've discovered that Parker is a little wiggle worm, constantly has his hands around his face or in his mouth (and as a result of both of these prefers not to be swaddled), has a dimple on his right check and a little cartilage spot on both ears, makes the best facial expressions that we could watch and laugh at all day, has his fussy time in the evening and at bedtime, likes to grunt and "talk" and has (curly when it's wet) blonde hair!
These 15 days have been amazing, exhausting, fun and overwhelming. I wouldn't have it any other way! :)
