My baby is 9 months (and a few days now) old! We saw Dr. Long today for Parker's 9 month check up and P got a great report. He is growing steadily and developing perfectly. He's in the 25th percentile for height (27.5 in), weight (19 lbs, 5 oz) and head circumference (17.6 in). Our pediatrician gives us an age appropriate handout at each well visit with basic information and tips. This handout says, "9 month olds have a lot of energy and it requires a lot of energy to take care of them." Um, no kidding! ;)
In the past month, Parker, you...
*started crawling (first backwards and then forwards)
*started pulling up
*started wanting to stand more and more
*try to move one foot in front of the other when standing
*learned to clap and give high fives
*got 2 bottom teeth
*ate yogurt and Cheerios for the first time
*fell asleep sitting up in your crib
*started clicking your tongue
*discovered Darcy's toys
*are entertained by the doorstops
*know what "no" means and think it is funny when we tell you "no" (we're in trouble!)
You love banging things together and you flinch every time right before the loud noise. Your favorite toys are balls and anything that plays music. You really like your Praise Baby DVD. When lying on your back your legs are usually in motion and Keith and I joke that you're going for a run. You are always on the move. You really like crawling into the foyer and looking out of the windows next to the door. You also "talk" a lot (and loudly) in the foyer first thing in the morning, kind of like you're saying "Good morning, world!"
Our photo shoot this month was a little more of a challenge, but we still managed to get a couple of shots with the giraffe for size comparison.
We love you, buddy!
