Our Labor Day weekend included a trip to Franklin (where we bought P the cutest puppy hat for the winter), football (Hotty Toddy), food trucks (yay for food trucks and music in the park on a beautiful day) and oatmeal (for Parker)! Keith also squeezed in a little manual labor- mowing the grass, thinning the mulch and pressure washing our patio- and I managed to get a little work done too. Here are some pics of the highlights:

Photo Friday: August Outings
This month Keith and I have had several sans Parker outings. We attended two 30th birthday parties and a concert. Brent's surprise party was a "Christmas in August" theme and Katie went all out renting a food truck, totally decorating the house (even putting up a tree), and setting up an outdoor viewing of "Christmas Vacation". I've already told Keith not to get any ideas for his 30th, coming up in November. ;)
Angie turned 30 too! We had such a great time at Blackstone catching up with so many friends, even Becky who drove to Nashville just for the party!
Wednesday was a day I had been anticipating for months- the Meatloaf concert! Yes, you read that right. Keith bought me Meatloaf tickets for my birthday so Wednesday night after work we headed to the Ryman. It was totally entertaining and So. Much. Fun!
While it's been fun to get out (a big Thank You to Mimi, Granddaddy, Aimee and Nick for making it possible!), I'm looking forward to some time at home with my little man and a relaxing Labor Day weekend!

Photo Friday
On Monday Parker and I had lunch with Aunt Ryan! We met her immediately after Parker's 4 month shots, so unfortunately our lunch was cut short when he started getting a little fussy. We didn't get a current picture because (a) my phone died and (b) Parker was ready to get home and nap, but here's one from Ryan's first visit with P in May. He was such a tiny thing then!

Cheekwood
Every summer Cheekwood hosts some sort of special exhibit. A few years ago it was Chihuly. Amazing. This year they have treehouses. Seven designers created these structures, which are essentially mini playgrounds. So a little premature for a 4 month old, but it was still a fun family outing on a beautiful Saturday morning.

4 Months!
Parker,
You are four months old! You're a growing boy tipping the scales at 13 pounds 3 ounces and stretching 24.5 inches. You've become quite the grabber and gripper with Mommy's hair being a favorite (ouch!). You had your first cold turned sinus infection and round of antibiotics. You were a such a little trooper throughout it all. You are a horrible napper at daycare or if we're out and about, but you do a little better if we're at home. You're not sleeping through the night consistently yet either. (Please start soon! Mommy and Daddy are tired!) Attempt #3 at leaving you with your grandparents involved a major meltdown, but they were able to get things under control at the last minute and Mommy and Daddy didn't have to rush home. I guess we can count it as semi-successful. Your belly and your neck (if we can find it under those rolls!) are ticklish and we love to hear you laugh. You love to sit up and look around, playing with all of your newly discovered toys and bath time. You've also started noticing Darcy. You get cuter and cuter every day, Parker man! Not that we're biased. :)
