Picture Post

All photos taken when P was 16 months old...
Mowing.
Swinging.
Obsessed with anything that has wheels.
A rare quiet, still moment.
This is more like it.
We're working on brushing and not eating the bristles.
Sister and brother.
I mean, this face!
It's never too early to bond over fantasy football.
Balloon!
I love watching him eat. At least when he's not throwing food on the floor.

5 Year Celebration

The night of our 5 year anniversary looked like this:
We had takeout from J. Alexander's and watched The Great Gatsby in our pjs. It was awesome.
The weekend after our anniversary Keith and I left Parker and Darcy with his parents and went to Birmingham for some much anticipated rest and relaxation. We basically spent the weekend eating. We hung out at the pool (and Keith at the golf course) and Samford a little bit too.

First stop: Tip Top Grill
Dinner at Highlands on Friday night. The figs, tuna and snapper were delicious!
Breakfast for two! They're my favorite donuts. I couldn't help myself.
Milkshakes and chicken salad at O'Carr's (and cookies and petit fours from Savages).

Beautiful Samford... 8 years after we left.
Dinner at Hot and Hot Fish Club on Saturday night.
Shrimp + Hot and Hot Tomato Salad So, so good.
Sunday morning we lounged around before it was time to head home. We made a quick stop to visit an old friend, her husband, and their sweet 6 month old daughter, and then it was back to Nashville to see our babies!

5 Years!

Five years ago today Keith and I said "I Do" and then jetted off to Maui.
What an amazing time! Since then, we've been on a few more adventures, settled into our home and our careers, added the most incredible little boy to our family, and learned a lot about each other and marriage.

To celebrate our 5 year milestone we're taking a little getaway back to the city where we met- Birmingham, Alabama. (Ok, so technically we're going to Birmingham because it's a short drive making it an easy destination for a couple of nights away sans Parker, but doesn't saying we're going back to where we met sound a little more romantic?) The agenda includes a lot of relaxing, a lot of food (we've already made dinner reservations for both nights and have breakfast and lunch plans and we're not going until next weekend!), and a visit to good ole SU. Excited for this little trip! As for tonight, it's takeout after Parker man goes to bed. Oh how 5 years and a baby changes things (but I'm not complaining)!

Here's to 55 more years!

This kid...

At 15 months (full 15  month update here)
Loves his Daddy and Darcy.
Still likes to swing (although he takes breaks to play with Darc or mow).
Has an appetite! His eating style isn't "barracuda" for nothing. ;)
Popsicles (or "pop" as he says) are his favorite
Has to have a daily walk (he even brings us his and/or our shoes to prompt us).
Went to his first art class at Cheekwood.
Is always getting into something and always making messes.
Is a water baby.
Is our heart!

Girls Weekend/Labor Day

College football has begun! Last Thursday Ole Miss played Vanderbilt in Nashville and some of my law school friends made the trip for a little mini-reunion. We kicked things off at the Ole Miss Alum Tailgate at the Parthenon before walking over to the stadium to watch the most exciting game ever! Hotty Toddy!
The girls stayed in town until Sunday so we were able to spend a lot of time relaxing, catching up, eating and checking out some of the different areas of Nashville.

While I played, Keith and Parker had a boys weekend. Here are some of the pics I got from Keith via his old Blackberry over the weekend:

Wagon riding

Keith's caption for this one: 15 minutes ago he was sprinting in Target.
While we all had a great time, we were happy to be reunited. Even better, Monday was Labor Day so we were able to spend the day together. Our neighborhood had a little "parade" (since the July 4th one was rained out) with a couple of fire trucks and decorated bikes and wagons. We decorated P's wagon and put a bandana on Darcy and joined the parade. Although we didn't stick around for the judges to announce a winner for the best decorated wagon (it was nap time), we're pretty sure P's wagon would have won. ;)

Not only did P ride in a parade, but also on Monday he got his first pair of tennis shoes and ate his first hot dog. Big day! ;)
