Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Tree shopping. We picked a dud. Totally died before Christmas.

Parker told Santa he wanted a blue train, a green train, cars, and another airplane.
Mistletoe kisses.
(Almost) impossible to get a good pic of these two together. So we did a few individual glamour shots in their Christmas best.

Eden: 5 months!

And just like that we're one month away from our baby girl being half a year old. Wow. Lately our little Edes (Parker's favorite nickname for her) is...
* watching everything her big brother does. Which is fun since Parker's in a "No! Don't look at me, Eden!" stage.
* playing with her toys.
* taking forever to eat. She would seriously eat for an hour straight if I would let her, especially at night.
* finally over her bottle strike (I think).
* laughing! She's a tough one though and she won't usually laugh at the same thing twice.
* cooing. And it is precious.
* not really rolling over (she has rolled from tummy to back but just doesn't seem interested in doing it regularly), but she is sitting on her own although she's wobbly.
* inconsistent in the sleep department. During the day she'll take a few 30 minute naps after about 15 minutes of crying herself to sleep (usually in the swing). At night she's up anywhere between 2-4 times, but generally (and thankfully) it is more often two times and she's back asleep as soon as she eats.
* a major mommy's girl.
Parker's 5 month post is HERE.

Highlands NC

This year we celebrated Thanksgiving with family early, so when the actual holiday rolled around we decided to take advantage of a few of Keith's vacation days and go on a mini-getaway. At the last minute we settled on Highlands, a favorite destination of ours from a few years ago. It turned out to be a little colder than we anticipated (as in 21 degrees and snow!) and we had to make an unplanned trip to the Clayton, Georgia Wal-Mart on Thanksgiving day for a new car battery, but we shopped, ate, hiked, and had some good family quality time in a beautiful place. Thankful for sure!
