Miracle on Music Row

EmmyLou Harris has a dog rescue organization, Bonaparte's Retreat, and last Saturday was the third annual Miracle on Music Row in support of the rescue. There was a pet parade, food trucks, music and silent auction. Aimee volunteers with Bonaparte's Retreat and she was in the parade with "Stevie." Keith and I took Parker and Darcy for a couple of hours. It was a fun way to spend a Saturday morning.

Eight Months!

Yesterday was Parker's 8 Month birthday!
Parker, you are growing so fast. I feel like you're so close to getting your first tooth and to crawling. You can get in position to crawl, but you don't really go anywhere yet. In the past month you got your first fever (103.8 on Thanksgiving/Daddy's 30th birthday), first bruise (by your right eye from a slip in the tub- I cried more than you did) and first kiss (from a cute little 2 year old in our life group)! You say "dada" All. The. Time. Of course, your dada LOVES this. One of your favorite toys is a blue ball that you like rolling back and forth. You love music. We learned that you can curl your tongue like your daddy. You still fight us on sleep and solids. You're drinking about 40-45 oz of formula a day so how in the world your weight was in the 15th percentile at your 6 month check up I have no idea. I'm expecting it to go up at your 9 month check up. ;) You keep us busy baby boy, that's for sure, but we love it!
And he's off! Almost!

Here Comes Santa Claus!

Parker did awesome during his first visit with Santa. He happily posed for a picture with Mr. and Mrs. Claus and he told Santa what he wanted under the tree.
I think he'll be on the "nice" list this year ;)

O Christmas Tree

The Sunday after Thanksgiving after Parker got to feeling a little bit better, we loaded up and went to pick out a tree. While these photos are far from perfect (positioning, clothing and looking at the camera/smiling issues...), I love them anyway because they capture some moments of Parker's first Christmas and our first Christmas as a family of four! :)
Thanks to Brent Jacobs for the last couple of photos and the tree!

11.22.12

November 22 was an eventful day this year. In addition to it being Thanksgiving, Keith turned the big 3-0. Parker decided to celebrate these two occasions with an ear infection and fever of 103.8. Keith actually celebrated his birthday all throughout the month. Parker, Darcy and I gave him a little surprise everyday, we had a dinner party with his family and we and had a getaway to St. Louis. On Thanksgiving, Parker pretty much slept the entire day so Keith and I were able to enjoy lots and lots of food. We took Parker to the doctor the next day and by Sunday he was feeling much better and back to his happy, playful self. We took a couple of family shots post-Thanksgiving festivities for memories sake even though Keith and I were exhausted and worried and Parker was pitiful. Here's hoping Christmas is ear infection and fever-free!

Photo Friday

Parker is quickly outgrowing his clothes and I'm having a hard time putting them away, especially some of my favorite outfits. A couple of weeks ago I squeezed him into these little Janie and Jack overalls and had a mini photo shoot.
