38 Weeks!

Here's me, Darc and Parker with (less than) TWO WEEKS to go till my due date!
And since my photographer cut off the chalkboard and Darcy looks like she's terrified, here's just me and Parker.
I had an ultrasound last Friday because I was measuring small. It showed that my amniotic fluid is below normal (barely) and Parker is tiny based on his measurements- in the 24th percentile! Neither of these things seemed to concern my doctor too much, but she wants me to keep having ultrasounds until Parker decides to come. So, I had another today. This ultrasound really seemed to confirm to my doctor that Parker will just be small (which she expected based on my size) and that nothing is wrong. My next ultrasound/appointment is Wednesday the 18th.

As to cravings, I cannot get enough sweets. I ate all of my Easter candy before Easter so we had to get a few more things to put in my basket. Oops! Hopefully this sweet tooth will go away after Parker gets here or its going to be hard to get back in shape!

Happy Birthday and Happy Easter!

This weekend we celebrated two things with Keith's family- his dad's birthday and Easter! The weather was fantastic so on Saturday we had lunch, pie and presents outside.
On Sunday after Keith and I went to church, Darcy had her first Easter egg hunt. She was a pro and found all 3 eggs Keith hid for her.
We also spent some time with Sugar, Nancy's new dog. She was part of "Operation Sweetheart" where almost 100 dogs were taken from a facility in Kentucky where they were being held with no food, water or shelter. She doesn't quite know it yet, but she's going to have the best life from here on out. Isn't she adorable?

37 Weeks

This is Parker at "full term."
I had an appointment on Tuesday and this time there was progress! I'm now between 1-2 cm dilated and 80% effaced. I'm measuring a little small (34 cm this week). One explanation is that he is getting lower, which would affect my measurements. (Keith even commented that he thinks Parker is a little lower. I didn't think that was possible!) Just in case, we have an ultrasound scheduled tomorrow to take a look at things, but my doctor thinks Parker is fine. We're excited to get to see our baby boy again one more time before his big debut! I know I say this every week, but I cannot believe it is so close to his arrival! I feel like most people at this point are saying "Hurry Up!" whereas I'm saying "I need just a few more days!" Of course, we're more than thrilled for him to come whenever he wants, but it just doesn't seem like the "to do" list is getting any shorter! One thing that has helped though is that my jury trial got reset for August. That was a huge relief as now I have more time to get other things wrapped up at the office (and around the house too)... and I don't have to worry about going into labor in front of 12 jurors in Lebanon!

Also this week, our first baby (Darcy) got her first ear infection. One trip to the vet and $80 in meds and she is on the mend! She has her first teeth cleaning scheduled for tomorrow too. What a traumatic week for her and little does she know more changes are on the way in the VERY near future! :)

Parker Parties

Keith and I are so fortunate to have so many sweet and generous people in our lives who over the past few months have showered Parker (and Keith and me!) with gifts and well-wishes. I've been terrible about taking pictures (shocking I know, but I get nervous being the center of attention and felt uncomfortable turning into the paparazzi), so here are just a few shots:

February Shower
April Shower
Also, even though I did not get a single picture to document it, the "office girls" spoiled me with dinner and way too many gifts one night last month.

Thank you all! Keith and I have been overwhelmed by everyone's kindness. Parker sure is one loved little boy already! :)

36 Weeks!

Ah! It's Week 36! D-Day is 27 days away! I cannot believe it!
Parker is the size of a coconut although my belly looks much bigger than just one coconut. My stomach is measuring 35 cm, which is equivalent to 35 weeks, so although I'm technically measuring a week behind my doctor said that it is just because he is so low. My stats this week are the same as Week 35. No progress! I didn't know whether to be relieved or disappointed! I have officially been forbidden from travelling too far so that's kind of put a kink in some depositions scheduled at work, but I'm still on track to try my first jury case solo next week!

Random fact: Parker favors the left side of my belly. I wonder if that's a sign that he'll be left-handed like his daddy?

Darcy's Party

On Saturday we had the family over for a "Darcy's Favorite Things" birthday lunch. Darcy loves carrots, peanut butter, french fries and tortilla chips (among other things) so we had sweet potato fries, tortilla chips and salsa and a veggie tray with dip and peanut butter. Keith fired up the grill for the first time this year (yay!) and grilled chicken and steak kabobs too. We even had birthday cake and strawberries. We'd planned to stop by a dog bakery on the way home from the grocery store, but found out it was no longer in business. I googled how to bake a cake for dogs and luckily had the ingredients on hand so threw one together really fast. Here are some party pics:
Darcy loved all of her presents! Check out the owl that Aimee made!
Happy 5th Birthday (and last one as an only child!), sweet Darcy girl!
