Eden: 9 Months!

Eden is 9 months old! Her official stats are 19 pounds 2 ounces (60%), 27.2 inches (30%), and her head circumstance is 17.4 inches (50%). Her stats are almost identical to Parker's at this age, which surprises me because she is so much chubbier than I remember him ever being.

Eden loves to:
* stand, but she's not pulling herself up.
* steal sunglasses.
* tug my necklace and pull my hair- hard.
* eat! She's eating 3 solid meals a day plus snacks. The only things she has tried that she hasn't liked are avocado and broccoli. She's had squash, watermelon, corn, pasta, bagels, waffles, blueberries, strawberries, black beans, pickles, tomatoes, and potatoes among other things. Her favorite pouch combo is spinach, peas, and pears. She now has 2 bottom teeth to help her out while eating everything in sight. ;)
* chat. She mainly says Dada, gaga, baba, and she once said "Pa" while looking at Parker.
* move. She's "crawling" backwards. And she's super flexible. She stretches as far as she can to grab things that I think are out of her reach.
* play. She's into cars and trains (or anything that big brother is interested in!) and puzzles.
* be tickled. Her muffin top is the sweet spot.

She spent about 2 weeks sleeping through the night and it was amazing! Unfortunately, we're back to waking about 3 times a night. Naps are better though. I'll take what I can get when it comes to sleep.

I'm huffing my hardest!

Keith, Eden, Darcy, and I went to the park with this silly boy last weekend.
The weather has been amazing and we had the best time soaking up the sunshine.
But the funniest part was hearing Parker yell, "I'm huffing my hardest!" as he ran after Keith and Darcy when they would get ahead of him. (The kid is train obsessed.)

I couldn't get it on video, but here's an action shot anyway.

Eden: 8 Months!

Last month's highlights:
* Eden got her first tooth!
* Thanks to the ice and snow and subsequent cancellation of Parker's MDO program, she got into somewhat of a predictable nap schedule where she was sleeping IN HER CRIB. The problem- she naps at the exact times we have to leave to take Par to/pick him up from school. She also really needs a late afternoon nap, but she can't seem to do that on her own and it's hard for me to rock her/keep the house quiet at that time of the day. So, it appears that she'll continue to take the majority of her naps in her car seat.
* I've discovered she loves riding in the double stroller. I'm so excited about this! The weather is getting nicer and I plan to take the kiddos on many walks in the coming weeks.
* Her favorite toys are her teethers (specifically her small Sophie and a Mam "Bite and Brush"), blocks, stacking rings, and stacking cups. Oh, and of course Parker's coal hopper on his train set. ;)
* She loves pulling shoe laces and hair.
* New nicknames from Parker: Eden Mouse and E-oke (not sure about where this one came from?!)
* She's eating 3 meals a day plus snacks on Puffs. I'll pour a bunch on her tray and she'll shovel them in her mouth by the fist full. I've overheard Parker telling her, "one at a time!"
* She loves baths and has even had a couple with Big Brother with no incident.
* She's regularly in the front of the shopping cart now at the grocery store or Target. She used to always be asleep when we arrived so I'd lug her car seat in only for her to wake up the second we got into the store. It's so much easier on my arms and frees up so much space having her sit in the cart.
* We've made some progress hanging out with Mimi and Granddaddy without completely losing it within seconds, but any significant time away for Mommy is still a long way off.
* She likes to dance. :)

Eden Mouse

Parker has a new nickname for Eden. And I think it's adorable. :)
*nickname courtesy of too many readings of If You Give A Mouse A Cookie.

Snow Days

So the past couple of weeks have been dubbed Icepocalypse and March MadMess due to the crazy number of snow days. It was fun while it lasted, but we're glad Spring seems to be here to stay (hopefully!).

A Pinterest Winter

It needs to warm up ASAP because we're getting all Pinterest-y over here and that's not really my thing. Parker loves it though. :)
The Pinterest part is the "tent" not the mess. ;)
Making crayons for his school Valentines.
It hasn't stopped with crafts...
Zucchini boat fail, ha!
Come on Spring! ;)

Eden: 7 Months!

Oh Eden. We love her to death, but if she'd been first she would be an only child. Ok, so maybe that's a little dramatic, but girl is high maintenance. She's super attached to mama and she sleeps very little. At night she's generally on a 2-3 hour rotation and it is super hit or miss on naps. But how sweet it is when she does.
What she lacks in the sleep department, she makes up for in eating. She's not one to skip a meal, and she's taken right to adding solids to her diet. I've tried to make some of her food, but other than my butternut squash she'd rather have a pouch. Her favorites are sweet potatoes and carrots. She prefers veggies over fruits. But so far she'll eat anything but avocado. She ate it at first, but after expanding her palate she's decided there are things better than avocado, I guess. Is this girl who doesn't sleep and doesn't love avocado really mine?! ;)
She's becoming pretty vocal, just making noises, squealing, and grunting mostly, but I'm officially counting "mama" as her first word!
She likes to:
* Stick out her tongue
* Eat her feet
* Bounce when sitting and with her legs when being held
* "Read" books
* Look out the window
* Pull Parker's hair
* Play peek-a-boo
* Reach for things. She's so grabby!
* Play with her toys, especially balls, blocks, and teethers.
Happy 7 Months (late again), Edie Bug!
